Directions and Accommodations

From St. Louis

Go west on I-70 to 270 -- about 3 miles (take Exit 5B).

Go south on 270 to Hwy 44.

West on Hwy 44 to Hwy 50 (Exit 247).

West on Hwy 50 to Gerald.

In Gerald, you have two options.

Shortest:

Go north on Hwy Y -- 2.3 miles.

Turn left on Pin Oak Road (at bottom of hill).

Go 2.8 miles on Pin Oak to intersection of Pin Oak and Old State Roads. At this intersection, Pin Oak makes a sharp right. Old State goes to left. Bear right. That is, stay on Pin Oak Road.

Go 0.8 miles to driveway of TEI. (First right -- You'll see our sign.)

Turn right.

Park near white building, please.

Either side


Longer Route:

From Hwy 50, Go about 7 miles on Y to Hwy ZZ.

Turn left on Hwy ZZ.

Go 3.5 miles to Pin Oak Road

Turn left on Pin Oak Road.

Go 1.1 mile to driveway of The Evergreen Institute.

Turn left into drive.


From Kansas City

Go east on I-70 to Exit 175 (Herman Exit)

South on Hwy 19 to Hwy ZZ at Drake

Turn left of Hwy ZZ

Travel about 6.3 miles to Pin Oak Road

Turn right on Pin Oak Road

Go 1.1 miles on Pin Oak Road

First driveway on left

Look for TEI sign and wind turbine on hill



Camping (on site)

Participants can camp onsite in tents or campers or RVs. For tent campers, we level campsites near the classroom building. Students can also crash in the classroom building. Bring sleeping bags and air mattress.

We charge a small $5 per night fee for RV electrical hook up (15 amp service). Bathrooms and showers are available to all campers at no charge. Kitchen facilities are also available for preparing meals at no charge.

For those wishing to stay in a hotel or bed and breakfast, accommodations are available in Gerald, Owensville, Union, and Herman (not listed yet). Below is list of hotels and restaurants. The closest accommodation is the Owensville Motor Inn in Owensville 17 miles from the Center -- about a 20 minute drive.
