Hands-On Strawbale Design and Construction

In this workshop in St. Louis, Missouri taught by Dan Chiras, Ph.D., author of The Natural House and The Natural Plaster Book, students will build a small straw bale structure (to be determined) from scratch.

Who Should Attend? 
  •     Individuals interested in building a straw bale home
  •     Builders who want to enter the natural building field
  •     Builders who want or increase their knowledge of straw bale
  •     Educators
  •     Architects interested in learning more about straw bale building
  •     Students of architecture and environmental studies 
  •     Building department officials, real estate agents, bankers, and insurance agents 
  •     Green building consultants who want to learn about straw bale building

Instructor:  Dan Chiras, Ph.D.

Date: July 9 (evening) and 10 in St. Louis, Missouri (locations to be determined).

Students may attend either the Friday evening lecture or Saturday workshop or both! 

Time:  Friday evening 7 to 9 PM and Saturday: 9 am to 5:30 pm
