Intermediate Solar Hot Water

This course greatly expands on the information presented in the intro to solar hot water class. Students will study in greater depth the types of systems, system components, types of collectors, and much more.

This course qualifies for MREA's Continuing Education Credits for all certified site assessors.

  •     Students of architecture and environmental studies 
  •     Building department, real estate agents, bankers, and insurance agents

  •     Educators wishing to learn more about DSHW

Who Should Attend?

In this class, students will explore in depth solar hot water systems for domestic hot water and space heating. Students will explore the types of solar panels, the pros and cons of each, and will study in greater detail the types of systems and learn about their components, including storage tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, pipe, insulation, and heat transfer fluids. We’ll spend time studying system sizing and proper installation.
