Green Your Home (1 day)

In this one-day free workshops taught by Dan Chiras, Ph.D., author of Green Home Improvement and numerous other books on green building, participants will learn many ways to make their homes more energy efficient, healthier, better for the environment, and more economical to operate.

Topics include:

        • Environmentally friendly and people-friendly flooring options
        • Healthy paints, stains, and finishes
        • Ways to heat and cool your home more efficiently and economically
        • Ways to save water and reduce water heating costs
        • Ways to reduce electrical use for lighting, appliances, and electronics
        • Ways to reduce mold and mildew
        • Environmental friendly options for sidewalks, decks, and patios
        •  Water-conserving strategies for lawns and gardens

Who Should Attend?  

  • Homeowners interested greening an existing home by using healthy, environmentally friendly materials and less energy
  • Homeowners interested in building a new home
