 Hands-On Earthen Floors (1 day)

In this one-day hands-on course, participants will learn how to prepare and "install  an earthen floor in a straw bale cottage at The Evergreen Institute's Center for Renewable Energy and Green Building. This class is taught by internationally renowned author and green building expert, Dan Chiras, author of The Natural Plaster Book and The Natural House. 

In this workshop, participants will learn:

    •    The benefits of earthen floors
    •    The pros and cons of earthen floors
    •    How to prepare the earthen floor mix
    •    How to install the floor
    •    How to finish the floor to create a durable surface
